Deconstruct and reconstruct. For Quinnipiac University’s 2001-2002 Annual Report, I looked through hundreds of client-supplied images to build a series of 15 full-page photo montages. Each montage uses shapes and outlines pulled from the images as part of the compositions. To further enhance the photo composites, I also created separate gloss and a matte varnish plates with subtle areas knocked out of both to create additional patterns and textures. Facing pages also feature tinted varnish line art that complements or mirrors the line art used in the full-page compositions.

“The need for relevant and responsive education to prepare students for these changing times was especially evident this year. Quinnipiac sought to do so as it enriched academic offerings, expanded facilities and services and began planning for further development.
In May, the university awarded 1,020 baccalaureate degrees—200 more than the previous high mark of only two years ago. A record number of these graduates have enrolled in advanced-degree programs. Quinnipiac conferred master’s degrees on 345 candidates from 16 graduate programs and 213 juris doctor degrees at the School of Law.
The Mount Carmel campus has grown significantly over the last decade, both in enrollment and buildings, and now the university is looking to the other side of Whitney Avenue to the 200-acre hilltop property that will become its new Sherman Avenue campus. Quinnipiac is in the initial stages of the New Millennium Campaign, a fund-raising effort to increase the university’s endowment and build on the Sherman Avenue campus a world-class, $25 million athletic center in keeping with its Division I athletics ranking. The 150,000-square foot complex will house two 3,500-seat arenas: one for varsity basketball and the other for ice hockey. Also, a graduate medical facility is part of the long-range plan for that site.
The range and depth of Quinnipiac’s academic programs has gained national attention. U.S. News and World Report’s 2002 America’s Best Colleges issue placed Quinnipiac among the best master’s level universities in the north. This is the sixth consecutive year Quinnipiac has been in the top 10 percent in the college guide ranking. In recognition of our integration of computer technology into academic and campus life, the university was one of only two schools in Connecticut cited by Yahoo! Internet Life in its listing of the 100 Most Wired Universities in America. Quinnipiac was ranked 67th and Yale was ranked 69th on the list.”
