Quinnipiac University 2000-2001 Annual Report

For Quinnipiac University’s 2000-2001 Annual Report, I scoured hundreds of client-supplied images to build organic photo montages used on 12 spreads in the report. Some of the montages were built using a concentric circles grid, while others are more horizontally or vertically structured (see all the spreads by downloading the PDF below). To further enhance the photo compositions, I created separate gloss and a matte varnish plates with subtle areas knocked out of both.

From the report:

“The past year has been a time for celebrating and a time for remembering and looking ahead. The academic year 2000-2001 marks the first in which we inaugurated and officially used our new name. For the first time, the 750 baccalaureate graduates marched into commencement ceremonies under the banner “Quinnipiac University.” The change in name was accompanied by a redesignation of the School of Liberal Arts as the “College of Liberal Arts” and the addition of the School of Communications.

The university’s student population also grew. This past year there were 1,500 new undergraduate students, of which 1,400 were freshmen, and the total full-time undergraduate enrollment reached 4,400. Total enrollment, including more than 1,600 graduate students, exceeded 6,300.

In response to student interest, the university initiated several new undergraduate majors, including advertising, e-Media, public relations, interactive digital design, computer science, criminal justice and accelerated nursing. The university brought together advanced technology and distance learning last spring when it launched Quinnipiac University Online. “E-learning” provides accredited courses—including materials, lessons, discussion groups and evaluations—over the Internet and ushers in a new era of education.”
